This Library Will Teach Thousands to Read

New construction is our jam at FMF, but we're not building buildings, we're building people.
Right now in Kitui County, Kenya, a community multipurpose hall and library are going up, and yes, there's concrete being poured and walls rising and a structure taking shape. But here's what's actually being built: a mother learning to read so she can help her kids with school, a young man gaining vocational skills so he can support his family with dignity, a community discovering they don't need to wait for someone else to solve their problems because they have the tools to do it themselves.
The library is the container, the literacy and vocational training programs inside it are the keys, and what we're really constructing is agency, futures, and families strong enough to lead their own communities forward.
When you invest in people first, they don't just receive help, they become the ones building the solution, running the programs, teaching their neighbors, and creating the change that lasts for generations.
At Families Mentoring Families, we don't drop buildings into communities and walk away, we walk with people as they discover what they're capable of and then we watch them build everything else themselves.
